I am a Licensed Physical therapist by the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy (PT 4053). I have been in the fitness, sports performance, and health industry for over 8 years. Services that I provide include but are not limited to: Assessment of functional movement patterns, tissue extensibility dysfunction, motor control, strength deficits and asymmetries, as well as, performance of dry needling and manual therapy techniques.
In my youth, I played every sport that I could convince my mother to let me play. Eventually I found that soccer was the sport for me. I became completely obsessed with playing soccer and expending my energy. In Junior High I found that I had to make a choice between my two loves: soccer and music. I decided to follow my dream of being a musician and spent the next few years practicing, recording music, and playing shows around the country with my friends. During this time I found that I had to find an outlet for my energy. To satisfy this need, I fell heavily into weight training, body weight exercises and running. I would make circuit workouts anywhere I could, always trying to find a new challenge.
Eventually my time as a musician came to a close as I had to choose between an education and a childhood dream. So I went to the University of Central Arkansas to discover everything I could about human anatomy, physiology, and exercise science. I completed my undergraduate work with a degree in Exercise Science, along with a minor in Nutrition. I began working as a personal trainer and quickly learned that I still had a lot to learn. There was a Physical Therapist where I was working, and quickly realized that this was the path I needed to follow, not just to help others, but myself as well. I had been plagued with injuries over time from playing sports, bad mechanics, tissue restrictions and overloading.
I have spent my time, energy and study as a Physical Therapist in the orthopedic realm. I love to see patients work through their dysfunctions, limitations, and pain to improved their quality life, physical wellbeing and sports performance. I have come to love screening for movement dysfunction and working with patients to discover the missing pieces. It has been an amazing feeling impacting the lives of others in a positive way.
